Commercial licensing FAQ

Does every business need to pay?​

No. GPLv3 permits commercial use. A commercial license is for teams that want the proprietary permissions stated in the commercial agreement and order.

Is this a separate “Pro” package?​

No. npm, GPL, and commercial customers use the same package and API.

How do I get a key for a GPLv3 project?​

Request a complimentary key from the licensing page. The project must comply with GPLv3. The key is a compliance reminder; your legal rights and obligations come from GPLv3 itself.

What is a developer?​

A developer is a person who accesses CanvasGlobe to develop or modify a covered product. Employees and contractors both count. Final wording is controlled by the agreement delivered with the order.

What is a product?​

A product is a website, application, service, or other offering covered by the order. Deployments and environments of that same product do not normally count as separate products. Reusable builders, SDKs, templates, white-label systems, and generated copies require OEM terms.

Can contractors use our license?​

They can be covered only while working on your product, within the purchased developer limit, and subject to the final agreement. You remain responsible for their compliance.

Does the license expire?​

Perpetual plans permit continued use of versions delivered during the first 12 months. Update and support access after that period is an optional renewal. OEM and Enterprise may use annual or negotiated terms.

Can we redistribute CanvasGlobe?​

Not under Solo, Team, or ordinary Business terms. Contact sales for SDKs, builders, themes/templates, component libraries, white-label offerings, installable products, and other downstream distribution.

Can we evaluate before purchase?​

Yes. Evaluate the full library. Do not ship a proprietary distribution until you have GPL-compatible terms or a completed commercial order.

Can we upgrade?​

The intended policy is to credit the original order toward a larger plan during its update period. This must be confirmed in the final checkout terms.
